| On
the basis of the increasing interest recently shown by
the business community of Greece for investments in Bulgaria
and given the expected prospects in this field the Smartbuy
Afrodite International Investments has sought associates
in Northern Greece. The Asmeniadou-Zouras A-Z Properties
that is active in the field, under the leadership on
Ms Fenia Asmeniadou, has been chosen to be an associate
of Smartbuy Afrodite International Investments.
The focus of their activities is going to be investing
in land and properties in Bulgaria (in the region of
Bourgas). The company manages a significant number
of portfolios of internationally well-known Funds from
Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, Dubai, Greece. With a view to making the new association known and
in order to contact business people in Northern Greece
the company has organized a seminar in Thessaloniki
which attracted important representatives of the business
and also the diplomatic community of the town. The seminar was held at the Shark Bar- Restaurant
of Kalamaria on Tuesday June 24 2008 at 1900 and was
followed by a reception. The seminar covered economic, taxation, banking and
other relevant issues on Bulgaria including the investment
opportunities and prospects. The co-ordinator of the seminar was the economist
Dr. Emmanuel Alexandrakis, a member of the scientific
council of the Smartbuy Group who is also their representative
in the Greek market. The seminar was introduced by
the directors of the company Messrs Chris Sofroniou
and Paul Agathocleous who dealt with the activities
of the company in Bulgaria. There followed a presentation by Mrs Praxoula Antoniadou
Kyriakou who has been a high-ranking member of the
Central Bank of Cyprus for 24 years and also an active
member of committees of the European Central Bank and
the statistical services of the European Union. She
talked about the development prospects of the Bulgarian
economy. The international auditing company Baker Tilly
Klitou presented and analyzed special taxation problems
related to land investments in Bulgaria.
In the reception that followed further information was provided at a personal
level at an especially enjoyable gathering.
